Ice Skating in Downtown Greenville? Yes, Please!

So many things have been cancelled during 2020 it’s heart-warming to see that Ice on Main, sponsored by United Community Bank, will once again be returning for the 2020-2021 season beginning on November 13th. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 2PM with the rink open to the general public for skating starting at 4PM. This year due to public demand Ice on Main will be open throughout the entire month of January, closing for the season at end of business on January 31st

The 3,200 square foot rink is located on the Village Green directly in front of the downtown Courtyard Marriott and across the street from the Peace Center with street side parking and the Marriott parking garage conveniently located nearby. The only open-air skating rink in the entire Upstate of South Carolina, Ice on Main has given more than 125,000 guests the opportunity to glide, twirl, jump and spin since it first opened back in 2011. As in the past, this year hot chocolate and other seasonal treats will be on site along with nearby local food trucks and other vendors.

Skates rentals will be available or you are welcome to bring your own. Socks are required for those renting skates and will be on hand to purchase. Skate scooter rentals are on a first come basis for ages 12 and under and complementary skate sleds are available for those with physical limitations or disabilities. Dress for the weather as Ice on Main will continue to operate during light to moderate rain, with no refunds or rain checks given due to inclement weather. Public restrooms located directly behind the water wall. There are no lockers or space to secure personal belongings and no pets are allowed inside the rink. 

Due to Covid-19, face coverings for everyone over the age of two are required in all public areas around the Village Green and the Ice on Main rink. While on the ice, rink management strongly recommends wearing face masks, but at this time they are not required. 

Ticket Information 

Ice on Main accepts cash, debit and credit cards. Because of social distancing restrictions Ice on Main is requesting in order to guarantee your preferred skate session you reserve your time online. Those without reservations will only be allowed to skate if space is available. Rink admission is limited with each ticket purchased good for one specific hour of skating. Adults: (13 years and older) $10Children: (4 years to 12 years) $8There is no charge for children 3 years old and younger.
